Artist statement
“In my artistic practice, I explore the resilience of buildings and the cyclical beauty of flowers, drawing inspiration from the diverse cultures and histories. Each painting is a visual journey, documenting my experiences working, living, and traveling across the world.
I use acrylic paint on canvas to create vibrant, ethereal compositions. Bold, abstract backgrounds lay the foundation, line-drawn architectural details come to life using acrylic ink markers, and oversized flowers are painted in. The interplay of contrasting technique, scale and colour employed in my work mirrors the contrasts found in urban landscapes.
The canvas becomes a vibrant playground, inviting viewers to explore the intersection of nature in urban spaces. Each painting acts as a portal, transporting viewers worldwide, encouraging them to embrace the unique beauty of cities. My art fosters exploration, urging individuals to uncover the stories beneath the surface, capturing moments and encouraging a broader understanding of our interconnected world.”
