This original watercolour was inspired by this beautiful sun soaked archway and piazza in Volterra, Italy. Part of my Wanderlust Watercolour collection, I want to take my patrons on journeys to different corners of the world, to places with different cultures and images.

I adore travelling to Italy in the summers. One of my favourite things to do when I visit is to amble aimlessly getting lost in the small towns and cities. As I put pen to paper and added washes of colour, I thought of that feeling you get when you turn the corner and discover a wonderful gem of a spot, only known to you and the locals.
