Nouveau de Bruxelles
Size: 16 x 20 inches
I reminisce over my trip to Brussels, Belgium, fondly. I spent a long weekend in the city many moons ago. That weekend, all the museums were open after hours, shuttle buses zig-zagging patrons across the city. There was live music, food, drinks and dancing in spaces typically reserved for more hushed tones. I vividly remember the sensations I felt as we pulled up to this striking example of Art Nouveau architecture. I felt a sense of awe looking at this building constructed out of girded steel and glass, something I’m less accustomed to seeing. Stepping into the building brought me even more delight as I found myself inside the Musical Instruments Museum. Both the outside and inside of this building left a lasting impression on me, a feeling that something new had been created in this place.
Created with a combination of brushwork, application with a palette knife, and acrylic paint pens, this original artwork has been finished with a satin varnish for protection. The painting comes ready-to-hang with painted canvas edges and picture wire installed. The piece is titled, signed and dated on the back.
