Inspired by Seoul no.2
Size: 20 x 16 inches
This piece is a little nod to the vibrant city of Seoul, South Korea in the Spring. I reminisced about this vibrant city, the buzz, life and energy flowing through it, and how Korea’s modernity embraces the richness of its history and culture. It’s been several years since I’ve visited this wonderful city, a place I hold dear to my heart, where my husband was born, and where my in-laws now live.
As you look at this painting, I hope you find moments of serenity within the swell of life and movement that embody Seoul for me, combining the natural – in cherry blossom – with the urban – Gyeongbokgung Palace, an iconic historical palace in the heart of Seoul.
Created with a combination of brushwork and applying paints with a palette knife, this original artwork has been finished with a satin varnish for protection.
